Local business sponsoring campaign to improve Cooroy gymnastic facilities.
Cooroy Gymnastics Club is a small club with a big dream to improve their current facilities to host regional and state competitions here on the Sunshine.
There are almost 200 members of Cooroy Gymnastics club with many of them familiar faces at state and national competition. Local businessman Jason Brabant has no hesitation in helping them turn their dream into a reality through sponsoring the new and innovative fundraising program Swipe2give.
Club members will raise funds through everyday shopping at participating local businesses. Jason and his business partners Joshua and Neville Friend are sponsoring the cards for the club to raise funds to build a bigger and better gymnasium in Cooroy.
Cooroy Gymnastics Club Secretary Ms Sally Chambers said the club operates on a tight budget and existing facilities do not meet necessary standards to host regional and state competitions. “Our club is so positive about this opportunity because we won’t have to continually ask people to give money when we can raise funds just by doing our normal everyday shopping at the participating shops,””Ms Chambers said.

Jason and his business partners own and operate Eagle Boys Pizza stores in Cooroy and Tewantin, and recently opened a new store at Noosa Junction. He said there are mutual benefits for clubs, charities and businesses because it works both ways. “We get more trade so we can give back to the community organisations that support us, and it’s electronic so it’s easy for us to do,” said Mr Brabant.
Every time club members spend $25 at the Eagle Boys stores in Cooroy, Tewantin and Noosa Junction, $1 is automatically transferred to the Cooroy Gymnastics Club. The cards can be used at all participating businesses on the Sunshine Coast. Strong interest in the program has seen increasing business participation to provide more opportunity for organisations like Cooroy Gymnastics Club to raise funds.
Cooroy Gymnastics Club plan to extend the gymnasium, build a canteen, provide additional change rooms and improve viewing areas necessary to host regional and or state championship competitions. And the framework of the Swipe2give program offers a sustainable fundraising solution for small and large clubs in the local area.
Several other local clubs are joining the benefits of the Swipe2give program. For more information visit www.swipe2give.com.au
